Optimize the Schedule

Let Soliven move past-due and overloaded work to dates with room, review every move, apply, and undo if needed. Crew assignments never change.

Updated September 10, 2026

Soliven moves jobs to better dates. It never changes who is assigned. Use it when a day is overloaded, when past-due work has piled up, or when a light day could take some of next week.

Open Schedule, click the Soliven button in the corner, and choose Optimize Schedule. The wizard has two steps.

  1. Set Up

The Window card shows the From and To dates from the calendar view you were on. Change them if you want. Under the dates, one line says how far ahead Soliven may place work; it is two weeks past To, capped at 45 days from From.

Under What To Fix, pick the option closest to today's problem:

    OptionWhat Soliven does
Fix Past-Due and Overloaded Days (default)Gives past-due and flagged work a new date, and moves jobs off days that are over capacity.
Fill Light Days With Upcoming WorkPulls later jobs forward into days with room, earliest day first. Nothing moves earlier than half its service interval.
Do All of the AboveEverything above, and puts the longest-unvisited sites on the earliest open days.

More Options holds the four goals as separate switches, plus Include Future Work to Make Room and Include Already-Assigned Work. Assigned jobs are left alone unless you turn that last switch on; even then only the date changes.

    Click Prepare Recommendations.

  2. Review & Apply

The first line tells you what Soliven found, for example "Soliven found 21 moves on Sep 10–Sep 11. 21 past-due jobs get a new date." Below it, Recommended Moves lists every move grouped by the day it lands on. Each row shows the site, the job number, the risk in words, the date change, the estimated minutes, why it moved, and the last visit. Untick any move you do not want.

When a move would take one stop off a day that holds the rest of its saved route, the row says so and offers Move the Whole Day Instead.

Day Load After These Moves shows minutes used against capacity for each affected day and work type. Schedule Preview shows the calendar as it would look after the ticked moves. Could Not Move groups the jobs Soliven left alone by reason; open a group to see the job numbers.

The line above the button says how many jobs will change date. Click Apply N Moves.

  3. Check the result

The last screen shows how many jobs moved and to which days. Undo These Moves restores the original dates and stop order. Refresh Recommendations on the review step rebuilds the plan if the schedule changed while you were reading it; Soliven also does that on its own if Apply finds the schedule has moved on.

Where capacity comes from

Each work type's hours per person and Target stops per crew per day come from SettingsWork Types. Lake Treatment uses Max lakes per crew per day because every site on one lake counts as one stop. A day is over capacity when the minutes of work on it exceed the qualified people working that day.

What never moves

Jobs that are In Progress, jobs before today when the goal does not include past-due work, and days with nobody qualified working. These show under Could Not Move with the reason.

Verify it worked

On Schedule, the moved jobs sit on their new dates and keep their crew. Each moved job has an audit entry on the job page. If the day still looks wrong, open Dispatch to assign people, or run Optimize Schedule again with a wider window.

Frequently asked questions

Does Optimize Schedule change who is assigned?

No. It only changes the scheduled date. Whoever is on a job stays on it. Use Assign the Day on Dispatch to change people.

Why did a job land on a day after the To date I picked?

From and To are the days Soliven cleans up. It may place work up to two weeks past To so a full week can spill into the next one. The exact last day is shown under the dates before you prepare recommendations.

Why is a pool or lawn route capped at six stops?

It is not any more. The cap for each work type is Target stops per crew per day under Settings → Work Types. Lake Treatment uses Max lakes per crew per day instead.

Can I undo?

Yes. The screen after Apply has Undo These Moves, which puts every moved job back on its original date with its original stop order.
