Complete Guided Training
Open Training from the Help menu, finish Set Up OpsVara as an admin or office manager, then walk a TRAIN - practice customer from quote to paid.
Updated October 1, 2026
Requires the Training feature. If you do not see it, ask your OpsVara contact whether it is enabled for your account.
Training is included on every plan. It has no sidebar item. Open it from the header ? menu — the panel title is Help & Training, then Training. You can also pick it up from the dashboard card Your First Job, Quote to Paid (after required setup is finished) or from Open team library → on SettingsTraining.
If you see Training is not enabled for your organization, an admin or OpsVara support needs to turn the Training feature on.
Open Training
Click ? in the header, then Training. The page title is Training. Admins and office managers see Set up OpsVara for your business, then run your first job from quote to paid. Office workers see Run your first job from quote to paid on a practice customer.
Use the tabs that match your role
My Path is for office-tier roles. Team Progress is for Admins and Office Managers (Visible to Admins and Office Managers.). Library is for everyone, including field-only users — that is the only tab they get. Field-only users do not have a guided path in this release.
Finish Set Up OpsVara (admins and office managers)
On My Path, switch to Set Up OpsVara. The eyebrow reads Learning Path 1 · For Admins & Office Managers. It mirrors SettingsSetup Wizard — required stages first, then Optional (Optimize). Open an item with Open in Setup Wizard, or Open Settings to change it on the Settings tab. This path never marks an item done itself; the wizard’s own check has to turn green.
Leave Stripe and QuickBooks for an Admin
Office managers can run the rest of the wizard. Connect Stripe and Integrations (QuickBooks Online under SettingsBilling and SettingsIntegrations) stay Admin-only. An office manager sees A company admin must complete this step — it uses settings only admins can change. Skip it for now and ask your admin to finish it from the Setup Wizard or Settings. Skipping does not connect Stripe or QuickBooks.
Walk Your First Job on a practice customer
Switch to Your First Job. The heading is Your First Job, Quote to Paid. Practice records start with TRAIN -. Use your own work email and mobile number on that customer so quote and invoice messages come to you. Never edit a real customer while training. Owners and admins (and anyone with both an office and a field role) practice the visit too. Office managers and office workers without a field role skip Complete the Visit — the field team does that step. Modules stay locked until the earlier one is done. Start Over clears your progress and picks; the TRAIN records stay in OpsVara.
You can start Your First Job before required setup is finished. The amber bar reads Required setup: N of N done. Optional (Optimize) items never hold this path back. Finishing required setup first means the practice quote and invoice show your real company details and prices.
Training library vs Guided Training
SettingsTraining is titled Training library. Company admins add articles and links there (Add Resource). OpsVara publishes platform PDFs and guides. Those same items appear on Training → Library. The Setup Wizard Optimize step Training is this library — Skip Training For Now only marks the wizard step reviewed.
Team Progress lists each office teammate’s first-job status (Complete, On Track, No progress in N days, Not Started) plus company setup totals. When you add Office Managers or Office Workers under SettingsTeam, they show here.
Verify it worked
Open ? → Training. As an Admin or Office Manager, Set Up OpsVara shows required and optional counts, and Your First Job lets you bind a customer whose name starts with TRAIN -. An office manager who opens Connect Stripe or Integrations in the wizard sees the admin-only note, not the Stripe or QuickBooks controls. After you hide the dashboard card, Training is still in the Help menu on every page.
If something looks wrong
| What you see | What to check |
|---|---|
| No Training under ? | The Training feature is off. The empty state says to contact an administrator or OpsVara support. |
| No Set Up OpsVara switch | Office workers and field-only users do not get that path. Sign in as Admin or Office Manager. |
| The Setup Wizard is not switched on for your account yet | Use Open Settings on each item. Some checks only flip from the wizard. |
| Cannot complete Connect Stripe or Integrations | You are an office manager. Ask an Admin. Those two steps stay company-admin only. |
| Pick a customer whose name starts with TRAIN -. | Rename or create a practice customer with that prefix. Real customers are refused. |
| Already used by … for their practice. | Each TRAIN customer belongs to one learner. Create another TRAIN - customer. |
| No Team Progress tab | Only Admins and Office Managers see it. Field-only users see Library alone. |
Frequently asked questions
Can an office manager run the Setup Wizard?
Yes. Company admins and office managers can open Settings → Setup Wizard and the Set Up OpsVara path. Connect Stripe and Integrations (QuickBooks Online) stay with Admin — an office manager sees A company admin must complete this step and should Skip it for now.
Where did Training go? I do not see it in the sidebar.
Training is not a sidebar item. Open the header Help menu (?) → Training. The dashboard card Your First Job, Quote to Paid also opens it after required setup is done.
Is Settings → Training the same as Help → Training?
No. Settings → Training is the Training library — company guides, PDFs, and links your admin adds. Help → Training is Guided Training (My Path, Team Progress, and that same Library).
