Filter and Share a List

Search, filter, sort, and share office lists. Filters live in the URL so refresh, Back, and a copied link restore the same view.

Updated September 16, 2026

Customers, Sites, Jobs, Schedule, Dispatch, Leads, Quotes, Contracts, and Invoices share one filter band. Learn it once; the chips change by page.

  1. Use the band left to right

Search (or a date on some Dispatch tabs), up to three primary chips, Filters (teal count when something extra is on), optional Sort, then your page's actions (New Customer, New Job, and so on). Applied chips sit on the next row with Clear all. Inside the popover the clear control is Clear all filters.

  2. Share or bookmark the view

Copy the URL after you set chips. Another person with access to that screen lands on the same search, filters, and sort. Snapshot tiles on Customers and Sites (Active customers, Pond sites, and so on) set scope — they are not chips, but Clear all on Customers also clears that scope.

On a phone-width office window, the primary chips fold into Filters. The field app does not use this toolbar.

Sales and BillingContractsStatus, Term, SeasonTerm and Season sit on the row (Filters appears on a narrow window)
Sales and BillingInvoicesStatus, DueOutstanding min/max, Due from/to. Due includes Overdue only

Crew is the person filter on Jobs, Schedule, and Dispatch. On Assign Work it is a roster chip (All Crew, Assigned Today, individuals, groups) and is not stored in the URL — Clear all leaves that roster preference in place.

Quotes, contracts, and invoices hide Void or Archived until Status includes them. Invoices DueOverdue only is a chip of its own.

Verify it worked

Set a Status chip and a search, copy the URL, paste it in a new tab. The same chips and search return. Empty copy names what you filtered. Clear all restores the page default (for example invoices without Void).

Frequently asked questions

Why did my filters come back after I refreshed?

Search, chips, Filters, and Sort are written into the address bar. Refresh, Back, and a pasted link restore that view. Page number is not in the URL, so it resets to the first page.

Does the field app have the same toolbar?

No. This band is the office web app. On a narrow browser window the primary chips move into Filters; search, Filters, and Sort stay on the row.

Why does empty state mention the search I typed?

When filters are on, the empty message names them (for example the search in quotes). Status on some directory lists is omitted from that sentence on purpose. Click Clear filters or Clear all to reset.
