Use the Staff Directory

Opt a coworker's phone into Directories → Staff so the office and field crew can call or text from the device dialer.

The Staff Directory is an opt-in list of coworker phone numbers. Call and text use the device dialer and SMS — OpsVara does not add an in-app messenger. The web tab is labeled Staff. The field app still uses Team Directory.

  1. Enter the phone and opt them in

    Go to SettingsTeam. Open Edit on that person. Fill in Phone number, then check Visible in team directory (other staff can call/text this number). Click Save. The checkbox is not on the create-user form — add the person first, then edit. Deactivated accounts never appear.

  2. Open the list on the web

    Go to DirectoriesStaff. The intro reads Coworkers who have opted in to sharing their number with the team. Managed per-person in Settings → Team. Each row shows name, role, the phone as a tap-to-call link, and Text.

  3. Open the list on the field app

    In Operator mode, open Profile, then Team Directory. Call and Text are icon buttons (they do not print the number on the row). Field crew can open this list even when they cannot open Directories on the web.

Who can turn it on

Admin and Office Manager manage Team. An Office Manager cannot edit an Admin's row, so they cannot publish an Admin's number. Field Crew and Office Worker cannot opt anyone in.

Verify it worked

After save, DirectoriesStaff shows that coworker with a callable number. On a phone, Profile → Team Directory shows the same name. If the list still says No coworkers are visible in the directory yet., the phone is missing, the box is unchecked, or the account is deactivated.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the Staff list empty?

Nobody is visible until an Admin or Office Manager opens Settings → Team, edits that person, enters a Phone number, and checks Visible in team directory (other staff can call/text this number). The box is off by default. Checking it with no phone still leaves them off the list.

Can each person opt themselves in?

No. Settings → My Account and mobile Edit Profile do not have this checkbox. Only someone who can manage Team (Admin or Office Manager) can turn it on, including for their own row.

The web tab says Staff. Why does the phone still say Team Directory?

Directories on the web uses Staff. The field app path is still Profile → Team Directory. Both lists are the same opted-in coworkers.
